Attempt at a re-vamp

Okay, so I have been an absolutely terrible blogger. I started up with such determination NOT to let this thing fade away and just sit here never updated...and that's exactly what I end up doing.

I have had so many amazing sessions and some fantastic developments for my company and that I'm not even sharing in the blog world! I do update my Facebook fan page frequently but my new motivation is to keep both of these bad boys up to date. I will do it... I will do it... I will do it...

I started with a change of look, colors + layout for the blog so I'm making efforts!

Next I need to somehow catch up on all the shoots and images from the past 6 months.....er, yeah.

I look back at my last post from Amanda's Maternity Progression Series and um let's just say she already had beautiful baby Cole ....2 months ago. If you are looking for updated sessions and images check out the Facebook page for now, until I get this thing updated and running again.

I promise, I will! :)

Amanda's Maternity Progression (Month Three)

I can't believe how quickly time is flying by. Already month three of Amanda's maternity progression series. I kind of slacked on getting this blog up right away so.... month four is right around the corner in the beginning of December. Crazyness.

I changed the original colors on the month one and month two images a bit and made it warmer (I changed this on the original month one and two blog post as well) So here are the new and improved versions along with month three :)

Couture Creations

On November 3rd I shot "Couture Creations" with a group of talented photographers as well as some absolutely fabulous hair stylists and makeup artists. Everything from the wardrobe on these models (W Designs) to the amazing hair and makeup was beyond fantastic. Personally, I'm most inspired by high fashion / really "out there" hair and makeup...so for me this was really my favorite kind of thing to shoot. The models were so easy going and so great to work with, so thank you girlies for being really fun to photograph :)

Paper Diamonds Band Shoot

I've been slacking on my blogs....I'm just now finally getting around to this one and it's November. Shame on me. Two more blogs on the way after this though! I will try to get to them up this weekend.

So, on October 25th I shot five (hilarious) guys that make up the band known as: Paper Diamond's.
I shot at the abandoned "School Number Four" in downtown Jacksonville again. Upon arrival, I noticed that there was actually a notice on the door of the school saying it was to be torn down in 15 days from that date. I was sad to hear this since I've really enjoyed shooting there for this band shoot as well as Amy's fashion shoot earlier on in September. On the other hand though I was very excited and grateful I got to shoot at this location period because it had taken me so long to find the building in the first place.

So .... the band Paper Diamond's is made up of: Daniel Halvorsen, Matt Herrington, Nick Diperna, Ian Peterson and Brett Arnold. These guys were really great to shoot. All five of them really helped me create some amazing images for them.... but I can honestly say I don't think I've ever laughed so hard for two straight hours during a shoot. They were hilarious! I had to keep wiping my eyes because they were watering from laughter..... and watery eyes don't mix well with taking pictures, obviously ;)

It was a pleasure doing band photos for these talented artists and you should really check them out. I want a copy of the upcoming cd they will be releasing for myself. I will post a link to their website/fan page as soon I get it. I wish these guys the best in all they do, I really think they will go far :)

The only two candid shots I took.... I couldn't stop cracking up while editing, I love it.

Amanda's Maternity Progression (Month One & Two)

I could not be happier for my two very good friends Ryan and Amanda, who are expecting their first child. I've been friends with the Bennett's for a long time and I'm stoked to be doing Amanda's pregnancy progression shots. This will be a 10 month long shoot. From month one all the way to the last picture being with baby Bennett. So far we are only on month two of the belly progression but month three is approaching fast. I will be doing more of the compilation side by side photo pieces for every two belly pictures. So here is the first one, four more to go! I can't wait to meet the little one :)
Congrats guys!

Amy's Fashion Session

On October 18th I did a fun fashion session with Amy. She braved quite a few things on this particular Sunday morning. The colder weather that hit Jacksonville along with the creepy and dirty abandoned building known as Public School Number Four where we shot. It took me over a year to find out the actual name of this building and then it was a hunt to find where it was actually located downtown. How do you find a building that technically no longer has an address? I was so excited when I finally found it through much googling and went to check it out a week prior to shooting. If you know me at all, you know I love putting pretty people in ugly places ;) I can't help it. So it was perfect and Amy was quite a trooper. The light was not where I expected it to be at all but it actually ended up working in my favor, resulting in some pretty awesome shadows and light spotlights in these dirty broken down rooms. Walking around the place was kind of sad more than scary, honestly. You can tell it used to be a beautiful building, really well constructed and classic from the early 1900's. Lots of vandalism has been done to it over the years (I was editing out so many racist and foul words, you have no idea..haha). I'm very happy I got to shoot this concept there while it's still standing.

I'm shooting a band at this same location this weekend, so stay tuned for a totally different look and feel for those photos.

Jax Shoot Club / September

On September 29th about 80 photographers got together to shoot fashion in the Riverside area of downtown Jacksonville, FL. This lovely event called Jax Shoot Out gets a bunch of us crazy photographers together to just be creative and not worry about anything. Just shoot. It was really amazing to see all the great images everyone created and from every different angle possible with all the same models. Everyone was SO creative. The next shoot out is at the end of October.... I can't wait!
